It’s fun, for sure, but it also has more practicality than meets the eye. The Axe has the same 5-round capacity of 2 ½” shells as its larger Henry Lever Action .410 Shotgun counterparts, and the inclusion of a side loading gate means that you can keep that capacity topped off at all times without needing to remove the tube magazine. Another practical advantage is its size. With a barrel length of just under 16” and an overall length of just over 26” the Axe can be stored in far more places than your average shotgun. The barrel is topped off with a brass bead front sight, or a super bright fiber optic bead on the X Model variant, and the muzzle end is internally threaded for invector style chokes. The “axe handle” pistol grip gives the firearm its name and is engraved on the bottom with the iconic Henry Cowboy logo for that unmistakable touch of Henry class. Speaking of Henry class, the Axe .410 is available in three iconic finishes. For those who prefer the look and feel of genuine American walnut, there’s a choice between a polished hardened brass receiver or a matte blued steel receiver.

And then there’s the X Model version, which sports black synthetic furniture laden with mounts to configure the firearm however you see fit. There is a section of Picatinny rail at the 6 o’clock position on the forearm and two M-LOK slots are found at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions.
