Step 1. Determine Your Eligibility to Purchase A Weapon
- in order to purchase shotguns and rifles(long guns) you must be 18 or older
- to purchase revolvers or pistols(hand guns) you must be 21 or older
- you must comply with Federal, State and Local Laws at the time of order and transfer of ownership
The Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968 requires federal firearms licensees (FFLs) to report multiple sales or other dispositions of handguns to the same purchaser [18 U.S.C. ยง 923(g)(3)]. The sale or disposition of two or more handguns must be reported if they occur at the same time, or within five consecutive business days of each other.
Step 2. Add to Cart and Checkout
- select the weapon you are legally able to purchase
- place the weapon(s) in your shopping cart and checkout
- you can check out with more than one firearm
- you can have other non FFL items in your shopping cart
- if you have non FFL transfer items in your shopping cart, leave your shipping address in the shipping address field
- if you have only FFL transfer items in your shopping cart you can use either your shipping address or your FFL's address
Step 3. After Your Firearm Purchase
Shortly after your purchase if it is necessary you will receive a link that will allow you to select an FFL dealer for your order.
Please contact the dealer you wish to select before you assign the dealer to your order. You need to make sure they are accepting transfers and, that their license is current and doesn't expire within 2 weeks. Additionally you may want to inquire about their transfer fees.
If you do not receive the link or have lost it, you can update your FFL shipping address by visiting our FFL dealer search page. You will need your order number, billing zip code, and the billing last name to update your order.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
Keep on eye on your e-mail and take care of the FFL selection and license upload quickly. Your purchase will not be removed from our inventory and dedicated to your order until we have a valid FFL selected for your order.
Before we can ship your order we will need a copy of the receiver's FFL license. Either obtain a copy of your FFL's license or have them provide a copy of it to us. Please send the FFL license to the email address on your order confirmation and include your Order Number. You can also upload a FFL dealer license here.
Once the FFL license has been received and reviewed your order status will change and you will be notified.
If your dealer is in California they must also include their CA firearms dealer (CFD) number on their license. Review CA State firearms restrictions at http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/.
Step 4. Pick Up Your Weapon
When your order arrives at your FFL dealer and they have contacted you to let you know it us ready for pickup, bring all of the required documentation and licenses you will need to legally process and transfer the weapon from your dealer to complete the transfer.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long?
Once we have received the FFL dealer's liscence, or if we have it on file already, your order will typically ship within 2-5 business day. Once the FFL dealer receives the weapon there may be a delay before you can pick it up. We have nothing to do with delays at the receiving dealer's location.
2. Can I ship a firearm to my house?
All firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealer due to Federal Law.
3. What should I do when I pickup my weapon?
Before you complete your transfer you should thoroughly inspect the weapon to verify that the make, model, caliber/gauge, and condition are correct. Do not fill out any paperwork until the weapon is inspected. If there is a problem with the weapon please contact us before proceeding.
4. Are there any other fees other than the purchase price and shipping?
Any fees associated with the transfer to be performed by the receiving FFL dealer are not included with your purchase at Red River Reloading. The FFL dealer may also charge Sales Tax on your gun total and or the transfer fee depending on your state or local tax laws. Please check with your FFL dealer about fees before placing your order.
5. What if I change my mind or I determine too late that I can't legally purchase a firearm?
A 15% restocking fee will be applied to all returned or cancelled firearms as well as shipping and handling charges.
6. What are your return policies on firearms?
Once the firearm has be transferred through your FFL dealer, Red River Reloading can no longer accept returns. Any quality issues or manufacturer defects with the weapon you purchased will need to be handled through the manufacturer. We do not accept returns of damaged or defective firearms. We do not repair damaged or defective firearms. We do not warranty firearms.
7. What is your warranty policy?
The only warranty offered is the warranty that comes with your firearm. Warranties and repairs will need to be handled with the manufacturer. Warranties vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Please consult the manufacturer's website for their specific warranty information.
8. Is your stock current?
Our stock is updated several times per hour with our warehouses so it is very current. Occassionally, we will go out of stock on an item inbetween inventory updates and we will not be able to process your order or backorder your item. Your credit card will be refunded and your order will be cancelled. This rarely happens and we apologize in advance if it happens to you.
9. How can I make it faster?
In the best case scenario, we already have the FFL you are shipping to on file. If that is the case your order will usually ship in 1-3 business days.
