Sierra created the 30 caliber 155 grain HPBT PALMA® to fill the long-range demands of the PALMA® and other long range shooters. The #2156 PALMA® bullet has a longer, more streamlined 9 caliber ogive, slightly longer OAL and a pointed meplat, which is a first for Sierra Bullets.

While they are recognized around the world for record-setting accuracy, MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are not recommended for most hunting applications. Although MatchKing® and Tipped MatchKing® bullets are commonly used for varmint hunting, their design will not provide the same reliable explosive expansion at equivalent velocities in varmints compared to their lightly jacketed Hornet, Blitz or Varminter counterparts.

In order to accomplish accuracy firing tests, Sierra utilizes our 300- meter underground testing range daily. 200-yard accuracy evaluations are conducted on rifle bullets using a precision unrestricted machine rest. They also conduct daily 50-yard accuracy evaluations on our pistol bullets using a specially designed machine rest. If a group does not meet their high expectations, the production run is rejected.
